Λίγες εβδομάδες πριν τη μεγάλη τελετή που θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 28 Ιανουαρίου του 2018, οι ιθύνοντες των βραβείων ανακοίνωσαν τις υποψηφιότητες. Η τελετή του 2018 θα επιστρέψει στη Νέα Υόρκη, μετά από 15 χρόνια, και παρουσιαστής θα είναι ο James Corden.
Μεγάλος «νικητής» στις υποψηφιότητες είναι ο σύζυγος της Beyonce, Jay-Z, καθώς βρίσκεται να διεκδικεί το βραβείο σε 8 κατηγορίες.
